The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) has amazed the entire country by breaking the results in haphazardly today morning. This year girls are shining bright, leaving behind boys by nine percent. Gaurangi Chawla who has achieved overall second position in the CBSE exams has scored 498 out of 500. A student of Nirmal Ashram Deepmala P Public School Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, is a humanities students with English, Geography, History, Physical Education and Political Science. She lost one mark in political science and English and scored 100 in the other three subjects.
Gaurangi wants to give the credit of her success to her parents, teachers and her best friend Devendra Parihar, who is her batch mate.
“My mantra is self-control. I was not a bookworm rather an active child who never swayed away the situation,” she says.
Gaurangi has set her goals straight, she shared her future plans saying, “I will be taking up Geography Hons. and thereafter start my preparations for civil services,” she informs.
Guarangi is excited about her results, she was not expecting to score this good in the boards. Indeed, it is not easy to score 99 in English, setting a bar for herself.
“While preparing for English language children generally focus on learning literature; however, I focused on grammar,” she advised.
Guarangi, who believes in self-study, took help from her school teachers and managed studies along with other day-to-day activities.
How did she attempt the CBSE exam?
“I used to stay calm and relaxed while taking the exam, however, there were instances when I was stressed while preperations,” she says.
Guarangi used to beat her stress and overcame doubts by talking to herself.
The first toppers are Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora who have score 499 in the CBSE Class 12th Boards.

Step3: Enter your registration number or roll number
Step 4: Download your results and take a printout for further reference.
The Central Board of Secondary Education is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India. CBSE has asked all schools affiliated to follow only NCERT curriculum.
